Saturday saw record breaking heat in two ways. The high temperaure of 88 tied the record high set in 1993 and 1994. Saturday night's low of 68 was also the warmest low recorded for that date, breaking the previous warmest low of 66 set in 1990.
Sunday will be above average for temps, but not record breaking. Highs should be in the upper 70s to around 80. A passing weak cold front is bringing cooler temperatures as well as some clouds and rain, but not much. As it moves eastward throughout the day, expect rain ahead of it. Behind the front, skies will steadily clear up.
Sunday night should see clear skies with light westerly winds. There may be some lingering clouds and rain east. Lows will fall into the 50s west and central, but with some clouds the east should have milder lows in the low 60s.
Starting Monday the forecast gets much simpler. Pleasant temperatures with lots of sunshine!
Monday will see seasonable temperatures in the 70s. Skies should be mostly sunny as high pressure moves over the Great Lakes and settles in. Tuesday should see similar conditions. Wednesday will be sunny with a little warmer temps as the high moves away. Thursday will likely be the hottest day as highs climb back toward 90.
Near the end of the week a low pressure system will approach the U.P. Right now it's looking like it will move to our north and we will remain dry.
Elsewhere, Tropical Storm Isaac is getting ever closer to American soil. Florida is already feeling impacts and the southwestern coastline is under hurricane warnings. The National Hurricane Center is forecasting Isaac to reach hurricane strength soon. Check out their forecast map.
