CHOCOLAY TWP -- The second annual 'Free the Music' festival kicked off Friday evening at Lakenenland in Chocolay Township.

Throughout the music-filled weekend, 12 U.P. bands will hit the stage, and this year's festival is a little different. Organizers are accepting donations that will benefit the Marquette Women's Center. Last year, about 200 people came out to support the bands, and organizers say this year they're expecting even more. People are invited to camp out at the sculpture park.

The festival wraps up Sunday with an 'open jam.'
