MARQUETTE -- A Negaunee man was in court for sentencing in connection with the vandalism at the Bayshore Veterinarian Hospital in Harvey earlier this summer.

Thomas Richer, 22, had pleaded guilty to the crime back in June. On Thursday a Marquette District Court judge delayed Richer's sentencing for six months. In the meantime, Richer must pay $250 in restitution for damages at the hospital.

The judge ordered he also pay $920 in court fees and complete six hours of community service.

Richer, who police say was intoxicated during the break-in, is required to admit himself into a substance addiction program at Marquette General Hospital.
