GOGEBIC COUNTY -- A 50-year-old man was in Gogebic County court on Thursday, charged with the homicide of his 79-year-old wife.

Kenneth Wayne Peters was arrested on Wednesday night after police believe he was involved in the disappearance and death of his 79-year-old wife, Ethel Grzena Peters. Her body was discovered by Gogebic County officials on August 13 near Watersmeet. She was last seen on August 3 in Bessemer.

Ethel's husband, Kenneth Peters, is being charged with first degree homicide, vulnerable adult abuse, and second degree homicide. If he is convicted, he could spend life behind bars.

Kenneth Peters will be back in court on August 31 at 10:30 a.m. and his bond, which was originally set at $1 million, has been revoked.
