CHOCOLAY TOWNSHIP -- Festival goers will have a chance to hear great music and donate to a good cause at the second annual "Free Music Festival."

The free festival all starts with an open mic Friday at 4 p.m. at the Lakenenland Sculpture Park.  Then, throughout the weekend, 12 U.P. bands will take the stage.  And this year's festival is a little different.  Organizers are accepting donations that will benefit the Marquette Women's Center.

"We were doing the festival anyway, so we decided that, why not make it a way to give back to the community, where people can come listen to some great local music and support the Women's Shelter," said festival organizer, Cody Lakenen.

Last year, about 200 people came out to support the bands, and organizers are expecting even more this year.

The festival wraps up on Sunday with an open jam.
