IRON MOUNTAIN -- A new walking club is meeting every Tuesday at 6 p.m. at the U.P. Rehab Clinic on River Avenue in Iron Mountain.

The new walking club was started by physical therapist Sara Edlebeck after a number of patients had no motivation to get active. She says she designed it so participants can motivate and support one another in reaching their health goals.

"Dogs are welcome as long as they're leashed and friendly, as are kids and strollers," said Edlebeck. "Everybody is welcome...people of all fitness levels come and just group up and walk."

Walking is beneficial in multiple ways and can help prevent diseases, strengthen your heart, and improve your mood.
