ISHPEMING -- Anytime Fitness in Ishpeming has been open since the beginning of July, and staff say they have around 300 members already.
To mark its opening, the owners, staff and members held a ribbon-cutting ceremony Saturday morning. The gym is open 24 hours, seven days a week. Staff say it's a good addition to the neighborhood.
"The Beauchamp family, they're from the area, they're local, they wanted to bring something very nice, very high quality to the area," said General Manager Jamie Thayer.
"And hopefully we can provide that need where it can be anytime access, always a friendly, smiling face during our staffed hours."
The building is furnished with all new equipment and tanning is also available. Anytime Fitness also has facilities in Gwinn, Harvey and Iron Mountain.
