BARAGA CO. -- The season for kayaking isn't over and some campers learned how to master the sport Saturday at Baraga State Park.

The Michigan Department of Natural Resources held the kayak training session as part of their 'Recreation 101' program, which helps introduce campers to various activities in state parks. The event drew kayakers of all ages, including adults and young kids.

"I learned to kayak. This was my very first time," said Taylor Kemppainen. "It's really fun, and it's a really good sport to do."

The next event at Baraga State Park will be its annual Harvest Day celebration on Sept. 14 to Sept. 16.
