Rollover accident sends four people to hospital

NEGAUNEE TWP -- An overnight rollover accident in Negaunee Township sent four people to the hospital, police said.

It happened around 1:17 a.m. near County Road 480 and M-35. Michigan State Police troopers were patrolling County Road 480 when they observed a speeding vehicle traveling west on CR 480, police said. As troopers turned around to make a traffic stop, the vehicle left the road and rolled over several times. Two passengers were ejected from the vehicle. The driver and another passenger were trapped inside.

The four, three males and one female, were transported to Marquette General Hospital Emergency Room for non-life threatening injuries.

The Negaunee City Police Department, Negaunee Township Fire/First Responders, Marquette County Sheriff's Department, Marquette City K-9 Unit, Marquette County Rescue Unit #131, Bell EMS, and Marquette General Hospital EMS all assisted at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
