MARQUETTE -- Bands that made up the music scene in Marquette during the 1980s are getting back together this weekend. Bands like Blind Ambition, Mike Letts and the Marquettes, and the Queen City Rockers are hitting the town for a good cause.

Money donated during the shows goes to the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Marquette and Alger counties. Last year the bands played at the Wooden Nickel.

"We all just want to get together as musicians and play again. That's very rewarding, a lot of fun," said Dean Moilanen, musician. "Any time you can do that and spread the awareness of a great organization like Big Brothers Big Sisters, it's a win-win because obviously they serve an important need in the community."

The reunion continues Saturday night at the My Place Lounge in the Holiday Inn. Saturday's band will be Mike Letts and the Marquettes. The show starts at 9 p.m. A five dollar donation is suggested.
