NEGAUNEE TOWNSHIP -- Marquette Powersports officially broke ground on a new building in Negaunee Township that will let them branch out into new markets. The 22,000 square foot building will be twice the size of their current building.

The owners hope to use the new space to expand into motorcycle and marine businesses. They will be keeping the current building open to help with the transition.

"We've left room to expand even further so we've even built a building that, if we feel that it may expand even larger than what we've done, we've accommodated so we have more space than we even need at this point, so we're super excited about it," said co-owner Sarah Wolfenberg.

The new building will also allow more outdoor space for trailer parking and storage buildings for Marquette Powersports. The goal is to have construction complete in late November.
