TWIN LAKES -- Planning is underway for the first-ever Winks Gundlach golf scramble.

The 18-hole, four-person scramble is Aug. 25. Dinner is included, and it all takes place at the Wyanedotte Hills Golf Club in Twin Lakes. The proceeds will go to the Barbara Kettle Gundlach Shelter.

"Well, there's certainly an awareness out there. That would be our main goal besides fundraising. It's an awareness for the shelter, just to let people know about our facility, that we're a domestic violence shelter and for victims of domestic violence and their children," said Mary Niemela, an outreach advocate.

Some of the prizes for this scramble include season VIP tickets for the entire Michigan Tech football season. The shelter is also still looking for sponsors.

If you're interested in sponsoring this event, call (906) 337-5632 and to register for this event call (906) 288-3720.
