MARQUETTE -- Nine months in jail and two years probation...that's the sentence handed down to a man involved in a stabbing incident.

Twenty-year-old Danny Weymouth of Ishpeming accepted a reduced charge last month in exchange for testimony against his co-defendant. He pled guilty to one charge of possessing an illegal analog controlled substance.

His co-defendant, Taylor Mitchell, allegedly stabbed a man in Marquette last June. In circuit court on Friday Weymouth apologized for his actions that he says were caused by the bath salts.

"I was purchasing them from The Backroom and they changed my life dramatically," said Weymouth. They're very addicting and I'm not myself when I'm under these drugs. I would like to please receive treatment accurately if it's possible, because I want to change my way of life."

Weymouth will receive credit for 25 days already served. He was also granted work release during his time in jail.
