L'ANSE -- A farmers market outside of L'Anse is pulling in hundreds of people a day, all to take a taste of their Michigan-grown crops.

It's owned by the Spiessel family who has another farmers market in Ishpeming that they say gets even more business. The family picks up all the crops from downstate farms, but they get their top seller from the Upper Peninsula.

Their blueberries are the biggest hit with buyers, and they get them from Lake Linden. The Spiessel family says most of the market's shoppers are tourists that are passing through L'Anse.

"We were purposely looking for some local farmers markets that we could support, help support the local economy," said Susan Carrano, a farmers market customer. "We feel that produce grown locally is much better for you. You know what you're getting. It's not from outside the U.S., we're supporting our country."

The market is located right off US-41, and it's open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. each day in the summertime.
