MARQUETTE -- Redeemer Lutheran in Marquette held their annual block party Wednesday evening and the turnout was huge. Ten years ago Redeemer staff decided to hold a block party that coincided with National Night Out.

Over the years the event has grown. Bounce houses, music, and games for the kids bring in the big crowds, as well as the price of the admission:  $0.

"There's a great group of folks here at Redeemer and they really look at this as being a great opportunity for them to just reach out into the community, and it's a great time. It's a great time to meet folks, so it's wonderful," said Pastor Steve Hulke of Redeemer Lutheran.

Marquette County Emergency Responders were also on hand as well as Northern Michigan University's Wildcat Willy. About 1,200 people attended the event.
