MARQUETTE -- Young musicians are finding a new use for household items, and those sounds rang through Marquette's Kauffman Auditorium on Friday afternoon.
The Percussive Attack Campers are using all household items to mesh music, art, and dance together. The kids began their concert at the fountains outside of Kauffmann Auditorium, where they put their improv skills to use, and then brought their music indoors.
The musicians have been practicing all week for the concert, with a special emphasis on improvisation.
"Music is an extremely important way to expand your brain and your mind," said Camp Director Carrie Biolo. "It also works well on your social skills, and working creatively together with other people."
The camp has another concert planned in Lakenenland at 7 p.m. on Friday.
