ESCANABA -- The 11th annual Strong Kids Golf Outing presented by the YMCA of Delta County is getting ready to tee off on August 2 at the Highland Golf Course.

About $11,000 was raised last year, but this year officials are hoping to raise more, between $11,000 and $15,000.

The cost to enter the outing is $80 for each participant. The format for the event is a four person scramble. Registration and lunch is at 11 a.m., with a shotgun start at noon.

"Our campaign supports our financial assistance program that we have at the YMCA," said HR Fund Development Director Mary Gauthier. "We try to provide some financial assistance to individuals and families out in our community that would like to possibly participate in our programs at the Y."

There will also be an auction, raffles, and hole prizes. To find out how you can register, visit the Delta County YMCA website.
