ISHPEMING -- Crowds flooded the Al Quaal Recreation Area on Saturday for the 113th annual Ishpeming Italian Fest.

The Italian fest offered a wide array of Italian foods. The Bertucci family's tent was selling mostaccoli and meatballs, and other vendors sold cudighis and some cold treats. The fest had many games and activities for kids, including free pony rides. Multiple bands performed live music.

The weekend of food and fun is funded by the St. Rocco - Saint Anthony Society that fundraise all year for the Italian fest.

"I'm really happy about today. The weather turned out nice, a lot of people, it's going to be a really good night," said Jim Bertucci, chairman of the event.

The weekend concludes with a march to mass at 9 a.m. Sunday, followed by a march through Ishpeming.
