MARQUETTE -- Firefighters in Marquette are going beyond the call of duty this weekend. They're helping out the battle against neuromuscular disease using their boots to collect money from motorists for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

Donations help services like sending children and young adults to summer camps, funding clinic visits and financing wheelchair repairs. On Friday, they stood on the intersection of Third and Hewitt streets.

On Saturday, they'll be at the intersection of Front and Washington, Fair Avenue and Pine streets, and Third and Hewitt, from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m.
