MARQUETTE -- The Peter White Public Library hosted a candidates forum for the seat of Marquette County Probate Court Judge. It was a chance for the public to get to know the candidates.
The candidates responded to several questions. Some of the questions, they (Cheryl Hill, George Hyde, Robbie Powelson, Pat Jennings) knew ahead of time, while others were picked randomly. All of the candidates, except Cathy Church, attended the forum.
"What we believe is that a lot of these local races are going to affect your life in a far more profound way than any national race really could. Probate Judge handles many matters that affect people's quality of life and really affect the quality of life in a city," said Forum Moderator, Paul Olson.
Two of the five candidates will square off in November after the August 7 primary.
