MARQUETTE -- Nearly 40 motorcycle riders revved their engines for veterans in Marquette on Friday.
The Patriot Guard Riders are making their annual Michigan tour with a stop at the Jacobetti Home for Veterans. But they didn't just model their bikes. They came bearing gifts: a $5,000 donation to the home. The Patriot Guard Riders have donated thousands of dollars to the home previously, which has gone to help veterans with every day necessities.
This year, the money is dedicated to activities at the home.
"Well, it's important for the veterans because a lot of our veterans were motorcycle aficionados," said Ken Arseneau, a volunteer coordinator. "This is a way for them to connect with their past interest and talk with people who share their interest and get a look at some nice vehicles."
The riders greeted veterans and spent some time talking about motorcycles.
