MARQUETTE -- Richard Charles Jordan, a 50-year-old Ely Township man, was charged on Thursday for hitting a woman with his vehicle as she was crossing the road in Ishpeming.

Jordan is being charged with operating on a revoked license, causing serious injury. The victim, currently in critical condition at Marquette General Hospital, has been identified as 64-year-old Linda Marie Vanginkel of National Mine.

Vanginkel was crossing Third Street near the National Ski Hall of Fame when she was struck by a pickup truck, driven by Jordan.

He was arraigned in court on Thursday, with a bond set at $100,000 cash. Jordan remains lodged in the Marquette County Jail. He is expected to be back in court on August 2.
