SAWYER -- A passenger on a plane headed from Chicago to Sawyer International Airport opted to drive instead after American Eagles Airlines claim he refused to stop texting.
American Eagle flight 4035 left the gate at 6:35 Wednesday night, but was delayed by severe weather. During the delay, officials say a passenger from Marquette refused to stop texting. The flight crew opted to head back to the gate at shortly before 9 p.m. to remove the passenger.
An American Eagle Airlines representative said that the man was offered a chance to fly if he would stop texting, but opted to drive to Marquette instead.
The flight was eventually able to leave the gate, and head for Marquette County at 9:55 p.m. on Wednesday night.
