ESCANABA -- About $72,000 was put into renovating Pioneer Trail Park located between Escanaba and Gladstone.

They have a brand new playground costing $49,000, and it's able to handle 125 kids at one time.

This spring, 23 new sites were added at the campground, each with on-site water, cable TV and WIFI, the restrooms were repainted, and a new roof was added.

"For many years the parks in Delta County were deteriorating. Since the soil conservation district has taken over the management, they've done a lot of improvements to the parks. They belong to the people of Delta County, and I just encourage people to come out and see what's been done and enjoy the parks because they're theirs," said Delta County Commissioner, Mary Harrington.

Pioneer Trail Park offers rustic and modern camping with 100 camping sites at the park.
