ONTONAGON -- The Ontonagon County Sheriff's Department is investigating the drowning of a 54-year-old man, identified as William Jaksha, in Lake Superior near Ontonagon.

The sheriff's department reports that Jaksha is from Billings, Montana.  He had been seen walking on the beach near the Sunshine Motel and was later found floating in Lake Superior, about 20 yards off shore.

The incident remains under investigation, but officials said early indications are that alcohol is a factor in the drowning.
