MARQUETTE -- With only two weeks left workers are fine tuning some last minutes details before the opening of the multi-million dollar Hampton Inn.
General Manager, Reed Benton says before they open their doors, they have some more inspections to pass
"Looks at construction items to make sure we are in line with their target opening date. We have quality insurance coming in and looking at the cleanliness conditions. Making sure all standards are upheld," said Benton.
It's a four story building right on the lake-front in downtown Marquette near Founders Landing.
There's a little something for everyone.
Guests can enjoy the amazing view from the terrace right outside the breakfast hall.
At the business center visitors can keep up with their work or relax at the indoor pool.
It's a saltwater pool. They say it's better for your skin and the environment.
Guest can start their morning or end their day with a workout. They have a 24 hour state of the art fitness center, including eight fitness machines, free weights, and a strength training machine.
There are 84 rooms, eleven suites, customized bathrooms with granite tops.
Rooms are already filling up. Rick Peterson the Director of Sales says they have been taking group reservations for the past three months.
"Close to a thousand reservations from July 20th through Christmas actually next May. We received some reservations for Northern's graduation," said Peterson.
If you are interested in visiting the hotel attend the public tours. It's July 5th to the 7th starting at noon.
They hope to be open for business by the end of this month.
