DOLLAR BAY -- Dollar Bay High School is honoring three former graduates who were also war Veterans killed in Vietnam.

Plaques of Sergeant Dale Moilanen, Sergeant Edward Kolka, and Second Lieutenant David Cavis will now permanently reside in the hallway of the school.

Many people came out to honor the war heroes including close friends and family members.

“This means a lot to me. I’ve been trying to get them to honor these three guys, not just my brother, for years and I had a friend of mine talk to the principal and I asked him if I could put a plaque up in the school for him and I had it made for my brother,” said Pat Kolka, brother of Edward Kolka.

Directly underneath each plaque is a summary of how the Veterans received their Silver and Bronze Stars.

The 4624 Hubbell VFW Post, Bay Post 6028 and American Legion Post 90 also helped make the memorial dedication possible.
