HOUGHTON -- Congressman Dan Benishek is visiting different businesses in Houghton County.

On Monday, Benisheck stopped by the Community Based Support Veterans Clinic in Hancock.

The Congressman sat down with a few of the Veterans, and then he got a chance to look at the clinic’s brand new telehealth network.

It allows the clinics to interact with any doctor in the country.

After two years in office, Benishek is running for re-election and says one of his biggest accomplishments is serving on the Veterans Affairs Committee.

“It takes a long time for Veterans to get their benefits. The average time to get a disability benefit is like 18 months. That’s far too long, but I’ve been able to find out a lot about how that system works. We’ve been able to put some bills through to improve that process,” said Congressman Benishek.
