Two sent to hospital after two vehicle crash

NEGAUNEE TOWNSHIP -- Officials are reporting a two vehicle crash on M-35 near Grimes Road.

The crash happened around 8:30 a.m. and involved a silver Chevrolet four door car and a commercial cleaning van.  A driver and a passenger that were stuck inside the vehicle have been taken to Marquette General Hospital, according to authorities.  Their conditions have not been released at this time.

According to police, the van was travelling on M-35 when it turned into the path of the car at the intersection with Grimes Road.

Negaunee Township Fire, Michigan State Police, Marquette County Rescue 131, Bell Hospital EMS, and the Marquette County Sheriff's Department assisted at the scene.

Traffic was reduced to one lane until the crash site was cleared.
