MARQUETTE -- The Mariucci Family Foundation held a live auction Wednesday night ahead of Thursday's annual Beacon House Celebrity Golf Classic.

The event in Marquette drew hundreds of celebrities, sponsors and golfers to the Waterfront Restaurant.  Items up for auction included World Series and Rose Bowl tickets as well as a vacation to the Cayman Islands.

The money raised from the auction and the golf classic goes toward funding the Beacon Hospitality House.

"It's not funded corporately; it's a privately-owned business that is not for profit," said Host Steve Mariucci as he talked about the Beacon House.  "It needs private funding, so that's what we're doing--we're helping provide enough revenue to keep it in operation."

The organization hopes to raise over $100,000 by the end of the two-day event.
