WHITEFISH TOWNSHIP -- The name of a woman found dead in northern Chippewa County has been released.

Fifty-five-year-old Charlotte Evans was found on Wednesday in Whitefish Township, along Lake Superior, according to Chippewa County officials.  The Chippewa County Sheriff's Department is treating the case as suspicious at this time.

An autopsy was started on Friday, but there is still no obvious cause of death, according to officials.

We will provide an update when more information is released.
