CHIPPEWA COUNTY -- A female body was found in a remote area of Chippewa County, according to the Chippewa County Sheriff's Department.
The woman's body was found in Whitefish Township along Lake Superior. Officials are treating the case as suspicious, and detectives and evidence techs worked several hours at the scene Wednesday night.
An autopsy is scheduled to help shed light on the cause of death, according to police.
The name of the victim is not being released at this time, and the case is still under investigation.
