MARQUETTE -- The Marquette City Police Department has announced the names of two individuals that were arrested in connection to a stabbing incident in the City of Marquette.

Nineteen-year-olds Taylor Shantel-Julann Mitchell and Danny Lee Weymouth, both of Ishpeming, were lodged at the Marquette County Jail on charges of felonious assault.

Police investigated the alleged stabbing of Zachary Skinner of Marquette that occurred on the early morning hours of June 18.

The Marquette Police Department said that Skinner got into a fight with Weymouth, and during the fight, Mitchell, Weymouth's girlfriend, jumped into the altercation.  Skinner was then assaulted by both parties, and a knife was brought into the fight, resulting in him being stabbed once in the head, leg, and back by Mitchell, according to authorities.

Police are continuing to investigate this incident.
