SANDS TWP -- The 7th annual Great Lakes Rodeo wrapped up Sunday afternoon with record attendance.

The rodeo has been growing every year at the Marquette County Fairgrounds, and this weekend saw around 3,000 people walk through the gates. Booths full of food and drink kept the large crowd satisfied on the nice sunny day.

Contestants from all over the country competed in events like bull riding and team roping.

"Well I just love watching rodeo. It's just so fun, and then my sister has ridden a bull the last three years now, so it's fun watching her," said queen contestant Emilie Christensen.

The 2012 queen and court were crowned. This year's Lil Miss is Kiirsa Kolpack. The princess is Caitlyn Havelka, and the queen is Georgie Dahl. The rodeo will return next year on Father's Day weekend with a new trail ride.
