MARQUETTE -- Students of the Marquette Center for Dance are getting ready for their end of the year performance.  It takes place Thursday night at 7 p.m. at the Forrest Roberts Theater on the campus of Northern Michigan University.

The show will feature dance styles including everything from tap to hip hop.  The performers range in age from first grade all the way up to a college senior.  Instructors say this year's show has a unique theme.

"We're setting it up this year like the taping of a dance TV show--we're calling "Dance It Up Marquette"--so we have commercial breaks, and we have a guest host this time. And that's why we have music that would kind of be familiar to a dance TV show, since they seem to be so popular right now," said dance instructor, Jill Grundstrom.

The guest host will be pop singer Adam Whittington who is originally from Ishpeming.

Tickets are $12 in advance and $14 at the door.
