Friday saw some very strong storms! I personally saw hail that was at least golf ball size on the ground in Marquette, in addition to the heavy rains and lots thunder and lightning. Witch Lake received 2.22" of rain, High Bridge saw 1.81", and Munising saw 1.48". There was also a tornado report at the Eagle Mine. This is NOT confirmed. The National Weather Service has announced that it will be conducting a storm survey on Monday to determine if there was really a tornado.
Saturday will be a warm day with highs in the 80s, but cooler near the lakeshores in the 70s, or possibly even 60s. Winds will be light and variable as a frontal boundary is right overhead. The front is mostly remaining stationary, but while it's here, a chance for some light showers are possible throughout the day. Any rainfall will be very light. Skies should be partly to mostly cloudy. Clearer skies will likely be in the southwest.
Clouds and any rain should clear away Saturday evening. Lows will fall to around 60. With all the moisture in the air, that drop in temperatures could cause some fog. Winds will pick up a bit out of the south.
A low pressure system approaches on Sunday. It will be very warm and sunny with a passing warm front. Highs will be in the 80s, and even up to 90 in some locations. It will be cooler east near Lake Michigan as a strong south wind develops.
Sunday night will be very mild. Lows will only fall into the 60s. Winds will lighten up a bit overnight.
Things get interesting with a cold front that will pass overnight Sunday into Monday. It will likely bring some significant rainfall and some storms. Monday's highs should still be around 80 and conditions should clear up for Monday night.
