PALMER -- Richmond Township residents will have a new place to go to catch up on some summer reading.  What used to be the Range Bank on M-35 has been turned into the Richmond Township library. The building was donated to the community.  Now the library has a little something for everyone.  It's stocked with the latest releases, five computers offering internet access and a children's area.

"The whole community helped. We had everybody from the Palmer Fire Department, they came helped carry all the books. We had people come in shelve the books, building things, putting things away, everybody helped," said Jan St. Germain, the Library's Director.

The library has also received a Congressional Certificate of Recognition from Senator Debbie Stabenow.

The first official day of business was this past Monday  The operators see it as a gathering place for the community.  The Richmond Township Library is open Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
