MUNISING TOWNSHIP -- The cause of death of an Alger Correctional Facility inmate that died on May 31 has been ruled a manual strangulation, according to the Michigan State Police.

A fellow inmate reported that the victim, 39-year-old Carlos Marquis Love, suffered a seizure and was unconscious.  An autopsy was performed by Marquette General Hospital, determining the cause of death to be strangulation.

Authorities with the Michigan State Police and the Department of Corrections are investigating the death.

Love was serving prison sentences for armed robbery and prisoner possessing a weapon.  He has been in prison since 1992.
