MARQUETTE -- Monday morning, Marquette residents had a chance to voice what they would like for the future of their city.  Nearly two dozen citizens and community leaders participated in a workshop at the Marquette Commons to discuss the city's master plan.

The meeting comes as the city looks to update its plan which hasn't been reviewed since it was adopted back in 2004.  The workshop included updates from the city planning commission, as well as a brainstorming session.

"We've had several meetings already; we have several more scheduled. We've got the input available online to take all of that data and to build together a master plan that truly represents the goals, the aspirations, and the vision of the citizens of Marquette," said Marquette City Commissioner, Fred Stonehouse.

The next scheduled community workshop is this Thursday at noon at the Marquette Commons.
