LUCE COUNTY -- Firefighters continue to clean up the Duck Lake Fire in Luce County as of Monday, with 76 percent containment.

Updated GPS numbers show the wildfire, that was started by a lightning strike, at 21,094 acres.

With the recent containment numbers released the National Guard helicopters have been sent home.  The helicopters made 1,853 water drops, according to the Department of Natural Resources.  This resulted in an estimated 1.28 million gallons of water being dropped on the burned area.  There is still an aerial plan for DNR officials, but it only involves a DNR plane flying over acting as a spotter.

Officials with the DNR said the rain was a big help in fighting the fire.  Some areas around Luce County received an inch of rain, but others received nothing.

A total of 136 structures have been lost to the fire, according to the DNR's most recent numbers.  This includes 49 residences.

Firefighters are on day 12 of fighting the fire.  There have been 173 personnel working the blaze, but no injuries have been reported, and there have been no reports of injured wildlife.
