About 80 houses participated this year
GWINN -- Gwinn was alive with activity Saturday for the 15th annual rummage sale.
Despite the rain, tables full of all kinds of items lined the streets. About 80 houses participated this year. The hot items that most people tend to look for are antiques. One home included a bake sale that they use as a fundraiser for a different cause every year. Because of the weather, most homes held their sale in their garage.
Thousands traveled to Gwinn for the sale.
"It was a way to boost our economy," said Jeanette Maki, president of the Gwinn-Sawyer Chamber of Commerce. "While people are here, they're using restaurants, they're buying gas, so it's part of our economy push."
After the sale, people were encouraged to donate unsold items to St. Vincent DePaul and Goodwill.
