ESCANABA -- A Delta County man has been charged in a snowmobiling hit-and-run case that dates back to January.  Douglas Duane Barbeau of Garden turned himself in to police.

The 27 year old is facing charges of felony assault with a dangerous weapon and failure to stop at the scene of an accident causing serious impairment or death.

On January 28, an ice fisherman was seriously hurt after being hit by a snowmobiler near Ansells Point in Garden.  This happened after an alleged altercation between the two men.

Barbeau waived his arraignment in Delta County District Court.
