Ultimate Frisbee Fundraiser rakes in hundreds for charity
MARQUETTE -- Seniors at Marquette Senior High School marked their last day of classes with an ultimate frisbee fundraiser.
Twenty-five teams took part in the tournament over the past couple weeks.
On Friday the final two teams, the Silky Purple Blizzards and Team One Love, went head-to-head in front of the entire student body.
Each of the 25 teams had to pay $15 to participate in the tournament with the money going towards a Haiti relief fund and a local charity based at the school.
"A lot of money has already been donated, and we're thankful to everybody who donated it," said Andrew Lozo, a senior at MSHS.
In the end, the Purple Silky Blizzards beat out Team One Love, four to three in overtime.
According to the school, the fundraiser raised $360.
