MARQUETTE -- Some students from the Marquette Alternative High School have organized a march against bullying, and the students are calling it Love Out Loud.  The idea is to create awareness for an issue they feel is present right here in Upper Michigan.

The group will march in parts of downtown Marquette carrying signs with anti-bullying slogans. The hope is to have other schools and groups across the U.P. participate.

"I think of this school as my family, I really do, and as a family, I think we need to start here and completely eliminate bullying because that's why we're here, and then we need to spread to other places, other schools, other locations, and show them that bullying isn't the way to do it," said MAHS student Sophia Novak.

Novak also says the issue of cyber bullying is more important than ever.  She says it's easy to attack people without face-to-face confrontation.

The students will march at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, May 23.
