IRON MOUNTAIN -- A lightning strike caused a house fire in Iron Mountain on Sunday evening, according to the Iron Mountain Fire Department.
The fire department responded to the fire at around 5:30 p.m. on Sunday at 729 East B Street.
Firefighters used a thermal imaging camera to detect the fire and started working on extinguishing it. The home sustained damage in numerous areas, but firefighters were able to keep the damage contained to the second floor and attic.
The fire was contained and extinguished within two hours, according to officials. The Iron Mountain Police Department, Beacon Ambulance, and Wisconsin Electric were also at the scene of the fire to assist.
