It's the 16th annual City of Marquette Arts Awards
MARQUETTE -- Several people gathered in Marquette Friday evening to honor local artists.
It's the 16th annual City of Marquette Arts Awards. Ten people received awards. Among them, Jeff Krebs, a local children's music artist. He was given the Outstanding Performance Artist award.
"It feels very good to be recognized for what I do. It's kind of humbling; it's nice to know that people recognize what I do in the community," said Krebs.
"Arts is important to people. They're coming out to honor their friends and colleagues, lots and lots of people," said Tina Harris, the center's director.
All the awards were handmade by a local artist.
