CARNEY -- UPDATE:  Friday, May 18, 2012 6:04 a.m.

Firefighters were called back to the scene of the fire at Superior Cedar Products.   According to the Menominee County Sheriff's Department, firefighters were called back due to a flare up.

The fire broke out just after 5 p.m. central time Thursday night at Superior Cedar Products in Carney.

The Menominee County Sheriff's Department says that strong winds pushed the blaze through the building quickly.  Over 100 firefighters responded to the scene.

The fire was brought under control, and crews stayed on the scene overnight as a precaution.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

UPDATE:  Friday, May 18, 2012 7:00 p.m.

Firefighters have had to return to the scene for flare-ups.

Fire officials say the building is a complete loss.

The cause is still unknown at this time.

According to a company official, about 30 employees will be affected by the fire.

Approximately half of them will be laid off earlier than they would've been because they're seasonal employees.
