TAMARACK WATERWORKS -- One teen is dead and another was sent to the hospital after an off-road vehicle crash on early Sunday morning.

Police say speed and alcohol were contributing factors to a crash that killed 19-year-old Jordon Roberts of Tamarack Waterworks and injured 19-year-old Dillon Kupari at 3:55 on Sunday.  The two men were also not wearing helmets, according to the Keweenaw County Sheriff's Department.

Roberts was driving the ORV along Lake Shore Rd. near Tamarack Waterworks and lost control of the vehicle, crashing into several trees.  The Keweenaw County Medical Examiner pronounced Roberts dead at the scene.  Kupari was taken to Portage Hospital and treated for injuries.

Officials are still investigating this crash.
