It was the first annual boat swap fundraiser for the Lake Superior Watershed Partnership out of Marquette

MARQUETTE -- Those looking for a bargain on a used boat in Marquette were in luck Saturday.

It was the first annual boat swap fundraiser for the Lake Superior Watershed Partnership out of Marquette. There were 27 various motorized and non-motorized watercraft for sale. Prices ranged from a few hundred dollars to more than $2,000, depending on the boat. Ten percent of each sale goes to the watershed partnership.

"We're really hoping that this becomes an annual venue for the selling and purchasing of watercraft across the Upper Peninsula, and hopefully at the same time it gives people an opportunity to support higher quality watersheds across the U.P.," said Richard Anderson, chairman of the board.

Money raised from the boat swap will support the watershed partnership's events and programs across the U.P.
