NEGAUNEE -- Getting pampered and helping out a good cause is exactly what some did Sunday at the third annual Pampered for Pink Fundraiser in Negaunee.

The Negaunee Senior Center was packed with vendors with items like jewelry, purses, make up, toys and much more.  The event helps two local women walk in the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer in Chicago.  Each person walking is encouraged to raise $2,500 for the cause.   The two-day, 39-mile stretch is a walk in the park for cancer survivors.

"Cancer sucks, plain and simple. Everybody seems to know somebody that's been affected by breast cancer, and this is just a good way for people to be able to support the cause without having to walk 39.3 miles themselves. But it's a lot of fun, and people are very generous and giving," said cancer survivor and local walk coordinator, Marybeth Kurtz.

Last year, the Avon walk raised three million dollars for cancer research.
